Love Killa is the title track of Monsta X’s newest full-length album Fatal Love.

The song has done very well for the group, garnering over 2 million views in under 24 hours, which is a new record for Monsta X, according to Euphoria Magazine. It gained popularity within the community quickly, and even inspired a “Love Killa Challenge” on TikTok, which has been done by numerous other idols, including Seventeen’s Hoshi.

Love Killa is a dark and tumultuous song, exploring temptation amidst a toxic relationship. The lyrics describe the feelings of “love or hate,” fighting between wanting and hating the listener. They’re stuck in this vicious cycle, later in the song saying that “you know we never let each other go.” The members also seem to address the target of their mixed feelings almost as an enemy, with I.M at the end claiming “I'ma take you down.” Additionally, there is a lot of meaning to be pulled from the music video, where each of the members depict famous Western movie sociopaths and villains: Joohoney as the (2020) Joker, Hyungwon as Tyler Durden, etc. It serves to further build this connection between love and hate/violence.
