Background Info:
DDU-DU DDU-DU (often shortened to D4) is the title track of BLACKPINK’s first Korean mini-album, Square Up. It was in-part produced by the prolific in-house producer Teddy Park, well-known for his work across many of the most popular groups within YG Entertainment.
The music video became the most viewed video online (and the second most watched music video of all time) within the first 24 hours of its release. It remains to be the most watched K-Pop music video of all time on YouTube.
Song Meaning:
DDU-DU DDU-DU is a fun and uncomplicated song about being savage and enjoying their success. YG Entertainment groups have always had a more grandiose attitude and “harder” concept, and with this song, BLACKPINK are keeping the company tradition alive.
